The Rector’s Fellowship for ICUB

The Institute of Research, University of Bucharest (ICUB) invites applications for the Rector’s fellowship for the academic year 2015-2016. The Rector’s fellowship is a highly competitive research fellowship, designed to support an accomplished researcher with a strong track record of publications and an already established international profile. The successful candidate will become a member of one of the four sections of ICUB (Humanities, Sciences, Earth Sciences, Social Sciences) and will carry out her/his research project within the interdisciplinary ambiance of ICUB.

The Rector’s fellowship is awarded for a duration of 10 months, beginning on October 1, 2015. The amount of the fellowship is 3500 lei /month.

For the academic year 2015-2016 the rector’s fellowship will be awarded in Humanities.

Deadline for applications: July 15, 2015.

Residency requirement

Fellows are required to reside in Bucharest during their fellowship. Romanian scholars applying to this fellowship are required to have the accord of their home institution to work full time in the ICUB for the duration of the fellowship (employees of the University of Bucharest holding a permanent position are not eligible for this fellowship).

Application file

The application file should contain

  • CV
  • list of publications
  • research proposal (maximum 2000 words, detailing the objectives, intended outcomes and the way in which the intended research can be carried out at ICUB)
  • the name and contact details of a potential host scholar who should be either (i) affiliated with the Institute; (ii) or with the University of Bucharest; (iii) or be affiliated with the Institute as one of the visiting scholars.

 

Selection procedure

The selection will be done by an international committee presided by the rector of the University of Bucharest and the director of ICUB.
